Pretrial Motions
Many criminal defense attorneys have such heavy caseloads that it’s hard to find time to conduct the necessary legal research for a complicated pretrial issue. Partnering with an appellate practitioner can save you time and money.
At Chris Perri Law, part of our practice consists of partnering with other attorneys on complex pretrial issues. We stay current on the case law from the appellate courts, allowing us to work up an issue quickly and at an affordable rate. We always provide an estimate prior to engaging in this type of work and we communicate regularly to keep the lead attorney apprised about the status of the case.
IN SOME CASES, JUST PUTTING THE PROSECUTION TO WORK CAN LEAD TO A PLEA-BARGAIN DEAL.
Chris Perri’s experience in the appellate division of the Travis County District Attorney’s Office has helped him hone his legal writing skills, and he regularly drafts convincing motions or memoranda. In some cases, just putting the prosecution to work can lead to a satisfactory plea-bargain deal, making a full-fledged hearing unnecessary. However, if a hearing is necessary, Chris Perri is experienced in presenting evidence and cross-examining witnesses to establish a record that supports our legal argument.
