Did you see Chris Perri on the local Austin news?
On October 1st, 2025, KXAN reporter, Sam Stark, interviewed Texas post-conviction defense attorney, Chris Perri, to discuss the wrongful convictions surrounding the infamous and devastating 1991 yogurt shop murders of four teenage girls.
Thanks to new DNA and ballistics evidence, the police have finally identified the likely actual killer, paving the way for the men who were originally convicted of the crime to seek exoneration. (They have all already had their convictions dismissed.)
As Chris Perri points out to the reporter, the bar for exoneration is extremely high – higher than just proving a conviction was unfair or wrongful.
